Come on Mont, how has "reallocation happened already"? I am asking honestly, not giving you a hard time. 51% for comms, 49% for recs, sounds simple to me. The CFH guys can't get any recreational quota because of Magnuson. You don't agree with that?

One of the points SOS wants as well is the ability to sell shares as well. If a storm wipes out their rec season during the summer months, they want to be able to sell thier shares to the commercial sector for that year. Then what happens is the CFH guys can make as much or more money staying at home then fishing offshore. So why all the hassel of boats, crew, fuel and maintenance/insurance when they can sell their shares each year for just...

Swells, Yes - I believe CCA absolutely made the right call here - the proof will be in the pudding however to see if they will stand by it with litigation if necessary. Here's the percentages of TAC being discussed; - I think the SOS Plan is calling for 57% of the 49% recreational TAC. 51% commercial 28% for-hire 21% private rec Tom Method Years Lbs. for-hire Lbs. private % for-hire lbs. @ current TAC % private lbs. @ current TAC All...

bjd76,
Don't look for any of the SOS guys to answer you - they have already put their feet in their mouths so many times on this issue they can't taste anything but leather anymore.
Here's something that NONE of them can answer, yet they push for it anyway;
S how me the data that would allow a charter boat more time to fish than they have now by separating from the recreational ...

I guess all us recs need to decide which 150 boats are going to catch all the fish and the other 12 million can stay at home.

You don't know how bad I would love to keep this boat in TX...I am located in Fort Worth too.
I have been looking for months, but it is bad timing for the guy I am partnering with on the deal.
Someone is going to get a great deal!

For all those pushing "the fishing experience" and those wanting "sector separation and accountability", here's how we can easily work our way into a 0 day possession season. Unfortunately for Mr. Jarvis and his group, it's not the evil private rec that's doing it this time. For what it's worth, Captain Stanton is one of the good guys out there in my own book, just based on the way he has ...

Forget the Twinspin and just buy a Stella 20K.
There were 3 Accurates out of 150+ spinners on the OTI charter this past week and the only 2 reel failures I saw were from the Twinspins.

What kind of boat is it, how well is it equiped, GPS, Radar Ect? Is the $250 just for the captain, what about a deckhand?

Every little bit helps! Glad to see there is more moveent in getting reefs built offshore. I heard through the grapevine that they are planning to remove the Sabine Causeway Bridge and place it offshore once the new bridge is completed. I drove over it the other day and the new bridge is coming along well. Hopefully the old bridge will be out there growing fish before long!

I feel the key to batteries is maintenance. Everytime I would change the lower until oil on my old yami's I would also do two other things. One, pull the props and grease the shafts as well as the other grease points on the motors. Two, add water to the batteries.
If you get into the habit of doing these things as routine, it makes it easy.
I have really never had boat batteries that ...
