$850 is steep for that lappy. Also check out laptopforums, they have a for sale section, you may find that particular one cheaper. I'm a big fan of the 7950GTX, but with that config, you will not get more than 1.5hours battery life. Power supply is a F'n brick too.

Good luck with your purchase. Hopefully you won't need it, but keep in mind that nVidia laptop graphics recall that happened not too long ago and at the first sign of trouble start working on getting it fixed or replaced, since your warranty coverage is uncertain at best.

At our business there is interest in getting a 720P projector, that is capable of taking a 1680x1050 resolution from a laptop, but that can work with hard ethernet cables or maybe even 802.11N.. IE: the goal is to be able to plug in any laptop to an ethernet cable, which can then connect to the network projector. In most cases they all have Vista, which as the network projector connection ...

I found back my old V90 modem, and would like to use it as fax. Only issueis that I didn't kept the psu with it, and that there isn't any infoneither in the manual, the box, or on the modem itself. It does look identical to this one:http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/t...&s=elec tronics Only is there anotherbrand printed on.I think it will be in the 9-12V range, but if anyone has something likethis...

Suddenly one afternoon, as if someone had pulled the plug, my box just died. I suspected the power supply had quit (possible power fluctuations since I wasn't going through a UPS at the time) and sure enough when I pulled it and tested it was stone dead; not even running its fan. PC Power & Cooling has a 5 year warranty, so when I got it back and tested it then all was well. I put it in the ...

I know running a PC on 240V instead of 120V should improve efficiency while allowing me to get twice the wattage over the same wire gauge. Has anyone done this, and does anyone have figures on efficiency gains, including the difference in line losses from the breaker panel to the receptacle? Asking since I'm approaching the limit of a single 15A 120V line, and do not like the idea of ...

I've recently seen a plethora of Sony's laptops, with LED backlight. Coupled with the glossy screen, they are the best LCDs I have seen, and I want to get something like it for my desktop, in the 22-24" range, preferably FullHD resolution. I can't find any list of LED monitors, and other than one ViewSonic and Apple's new 24" LED Display, I haven't found any... Apple's LED Display is not ...

Hi everybody, I'm considering replacing my 2x E5335 2.00GHz Clovertown Xeons with E54xx Harpertowns. From what I can determine, Harpertown provides the following enhancements over Clovertown: 50% larger L2 cache (8MB vs. 12MB per socket) SSE4.1 (41 new instructions; called "major enhancement" in Wikipedia SSE article) Harpertown also features 45nm process (vs. 65nm) and lower voltage, ...

I purchased a Intel Q9300, and stuck it into one of my desktops with a Gigabyte P35-DS3L board. Idle temps across the cores were 55-65C, depending on what software/TJ max is set. This is with stock settings, no overclock, with the stock Intel heatsink/fan. I cleaned it, and put on a dab of arctic silver, and idle temps are now 52-62C. Load brings it up to TJ max I think, ...
