I bought a used (37k miles) 2006 base coupe with an A6 trans (my first Vette) about 3 weeks ago. One thing I've noticed recently is that sometimes when I go from Reverse to Drive, the shifter is "loose" and I can give a very slight push on the shifter and move it to Neutral without pressing the button. The trans doesn't actually disengage from D, however. If I go to Sport first and then to D, ...

Vetters, Has anyone installed an Escort 9500ci in a C6? If so, I would like to see some pics of the placement of
the recievers and the inside components. Appreciate any info, ideas or learnings. Looking for concealment options for a trick installation but not a fan for drilling holes (last resort), double sided tapes, etc. Thanks, Mike

After reading about poor quality service/repairs on Vettes at Chevy dealerships, I'd rather not chance it so I'd like to have some names of auto shops near my Clear Lake/NASA area home that I can use when needed. Any first-hand knowledge on good shops (or specific mechanics) to recommend?

I've been watching them for 6 months now and this one is 4-6k less than the market. Definately the best deal I've found so far. I'm still hesitant though fearing that they will drop below 50k before the spring. On the other hand I see 06's and 07's still asking in the low 50's. The real question is what they are 'selling' for now and not what people are wanting. Very few cars are meeting reserve ...

Are we supposed to get excited about stickers and embroidery? It's like 1974 all over again! Graphix do not make a car "sportier/racier." All the other stuff mentioned is existing. How about a "lightweight" car without the crap that clutters the car now? Don't get me started on
the rocking chair seats either. The belts are rubbish too. (Sorry, I just watched Top Gear again!) Take 600-700lbs out ...

I have an '08 base coupe (non-Z51) with 8,800 miles on it. It is my DD and 90% of my driving is on the Interstate. The other morning I noticed a little squealing when I was backing up and
moving forward and braking. This is using very little foot pressure since I was just moving around my driveway. I have not noticed this before. Do I need to have it checked out? TIA

"Drive it like you stole it" is pretty much how the
Hertz rent a Vettes are usually treated. Nothing would surprise me.

There are a lot of reasons that GM is in trouble and none of them are going to be easy to fix. As a customer I have a complaint about GM
service departments that I would like to have addressed while they are trying to clean up their act. I have purchased and driven GM vehicles since 1965. Most of them have been Corvettes. I think they are great cars and both quality and performance has ...
