Could be heater core... Yuck... with the car nice and warm feel both the inlet and outlet hose going to and from heater core. if only the inlet is hot and the outlet is cold or a difference in temp to touch you have a plugged heater core.

My FSM says there's a 30 AMP Power Accessory (PWR ACCY) circuit breaker IN THE fUSE BLOCK (right hand end of the instrument panel). This is for the door locks. The only two things I've in common so far is the THEFT DETERRENT CONTROLLER, which is identified as being located "Behind RH side of I/P". The FSM states, in part: " NOTE : If both doors will not operate, check that the PWR ACCY Circuit Breaker and...

Did you prime the calipers prior to assembly ? It has to be air in the system if nothing is leaking. Roger.

Jane Anne, When I get some of the bigger problems solved, I will get a fresh wash and a new wax coat and then I will take some pictures and send them out. To me it is still "work in progress" therefore it will have to wait. Thanks for the words of encouragement. Steven

Rear Defroster not working
Published (2009-01-07 01:17:00)
Prove wiring is OK first. Disconnect relay and confirm you actually have 12V supply coming in from defog fuse. Then jumper the in / out wires at relay and check for voltage at the struts. If you have power at relay but not at struts them maybe a bad connection in rear loom. More than likely the defrost light is on the control side of the relay. Lights up to indicate you have the switch on NOT that you have power on the...

I have an 89 convertible with no heat. Coolant temperature can be near 200 but all I get is cool air. I had all the radiator and heating hoses replaced a little over a year ago and everything was working fine. I don't use the car a lot and it could sit for a few weeks at a time. Any suggestions?

I read in the other posts that the vats can be bypassed with a bypass from Mid America. I have an 84 that I want to do away with the alarm system but the bypasses offered by Mid Am only works on 86 and above. Any idea how to jump or remove the alarm system from my Vette? I will take a trip, stop to go into a store and when I come out at times the car will not crank, the alarm light blinks ...

If you don't know the difference between the charging ports for R12 and R134, you should leave this job to a professional. This is one area you can get hurt, or cause some expensive damage. Find a good AC shop! That will save you a bunch of money!

When im driving around 50- 80 mph i get a pretty rough shake to the front end. I have just replaced the hub assy on both sides , rack and pinoin, had an alignment, new wheels , new tires, new rotors and pads. Replace tie rod ends as well as ball joints. Even at 45 mph the steering wheel itself has sharp short distance shakes ....

I recently rebuilt all the calipers on my 86 Corvette (with GM seals) and reinstalled. I refilled the mastercylinder with new dot 3 fluid and gravity bleed all wheels, hooked up a mity-vac and vacuum bleed them and then did a two man bleed with pump & bleed method. My question is the brakes feel a little spongey (no light and does not go to floor) but if I pump one time the pedal is firm and ...

I just traded up my camaro for a 1988 corvette. I got it with some problems and been unable to fix them alone. Anyone out there have answers to these following questions. 1. Where does the EGR vacuum lines connect specifically? All are connected except one which I believe goes to the throttle body. But where at on the throttle body? 2. I have an oil leak on the right side of the engine. I ...

I have a 91 Vert and wonder how to replace the rubber strip on the two windows that has flaked apart ;over the years. I presume that I have to take off the interior panel but do I remove the glass as well. I believe the piece is rivited on. I have been thinking about your issue... my 2 cents would be that since is has been SO DRY here that in fact it is finely ground road debris and the rains we have had washed it out.... We have had suce extreme drought this last couple of years that is wasnt being "washed" out with our normal heavy rains. Your previous vehicles were owned in non drought years so the rain kept it washed out??? ...

Hi all, I just traded in the Prius for a 1996 LT4, and it is doing some strange things. When I let out the clutch and push on the gas pedal, it makes a strange screeching sound from the rear of the car, there is some bluish-white smoke coming from under it that smells really really bad, and it moves forward kinda slowly in a squirrelly back-and-forth way until I let off the gas some - then it...
