Banks have insurance. Be a good witness and shoot only if it goes very bad. Just a thought; if you wait that long it may be too late.

When the huge adrenalin dump hits your system during serious social work you lose fine motor skills. You are in danger of a ND. You have problems if you shoot someone on purpose, but your action may be deemed justifiable. If you shoot someone accidentally, you will receive no such consideration. That is why I have 5# triggers on my carry guns.

Here in Virginia, if you go into an establishment so marked, then all they can do is have you escorted out and given a no tresspassing warning not to come back.

Texas is the same, we have no duty to retreat from our home. My locked house is your warning & you surrender all rights as a human being at your chosen point of entry.

Don't know what the hits were, getting back on topic, but the Ft. Hood shooter took 4 rounds and is recuperating.

If the shooter's account of the shooting is accurate, then it sure doesn't sound like a murder to me.

The "Personal and Family Protection Act Statutes" and "Other Prohibited Places where concealed carry may not be allowed." links on http://www.ksag.org/page/concealed-carry are clearly written.
Kansas is an "open carry" state with some complications, so exposing the weapon should not be a problem most of the time.
This is a site devoted to Kansas CCW issues: http://www.ksccw.com/site/...

That question is not as simple as it seems. Best case scenario: just the two of you, mano a mano, cookies fall where they may. Worst case scenario: a lot of innocents in the crossfire. Even if you prevail, you go to jail for reckless endangerment (or worse) & forever lose your right to keep & bear arms.
However distasteful it may be to watch a bad guy get away with a crime, today's ...

You should follow the law but I think shouting " drop your weapon" is little better than shouting "shoot me first". If you are inside your home and you kill the bad guy, your story is the only one the police will hear. If the bad guy survives, I don't think you can count on him supporting your right to shoot him.

Folks have an annoying habit of not dropping when shot.
I figure if I fired a shot and the guy's still in front of my gun, I'll shoot until he is down.
Two or even three shots would be fired very quickly.
I'd rethink your tactics. Even a . 357 mag will not drop everyone everytime unless a CNS shot is made.
I'd much rather face a jury with a friendly attorney than have my kids ...

Shooting someone for bad manners is always allowed.
There is no reason to scare the little teller.

I will lock up one dog.
We rescued him and he was mistreated, has a tendency to nip even bite.
But he's a sweety with us.
But what the heck; I bite!

Three against one!! Only if my hand was forced. Those odds are very likely to accelerate the situation beyond the capabilities of a single CCW holder.
Imagine the confusion and turmoil following the first shot. Maybe, just maybe the BG's would run out, but they might also panic and begin spraying and praying.
Tough scenario for certain.

Most would agree not to go below about 4lbs for a duty/defensive type gun. Other then that, drive on.

From what I found at the Colorado Bureau of Investigation, it looks like you only have to produce "upon demand". If he doesn't ask, then it's your option whether you want to tell him or not.
