Ah, good catch on that mis-wording. There was a couple times the magazine didn't drop when I hit the release, not a feed error. Quote: Originally Posted by RickB No failures to feed or jams and I had a few magazine feed problems. Can't be both?

I really appreciate the range intel. Having to be away from home for that length of time is bad enough without having to worry about whether or not I will have a place to shoot. I like having options and will try each of the recommendations. This forum is a great source of information. I was in Oklahoma City for a couple of months and the recommendations I got from the folks in that area worked out great.

Being dirty is a plausible explanation. Even shooting lead, it should take much more than 120 rounds to foul the chamber enough to cause feeding problems. Glad you like the pistol.

Range Report - Sig P238

I really don't think it has anything to do with the magazines. I have three (I believe new ones...); they're all the same and I have experienced none of the issues I've seen about them. And one of the jams occurred with no magazine involved at all... (I'll explain). The first jam happened at the indoor range where I bought the gun. The gun fired and when I realized it had jammed, I couldn't tell if the casing I saw...

I have a piece of cardboard the size of a B-24 target. The hangars at the indoor range can support the weight of cardboard.
I stapled paper plates on the cardboard and shoot them. Usually I have only room for four plates but it is still good practice.
Have fun !!!

I can relate since I am also right handed and left eye dominant. In my opinion your grouping is good. If you have not already done so,you might shoot your handgun over a rest to eliminate as much as possible the human error. If it hits dead on,then you must work on your marksmanship. You may find that this is not the case and the handgun is shooting a bit off. With fixed sights such as yours you ...

I always enjoy watching others shoot IDPA. I find I can learn a lot from the strengths and weaknesses of others. Thank you very much.
P.S. Like yours, my Kimber always performs admirably in both IDPA and USPSA.

Personally, I think it has all the great qualities of a 1911, such as the great single action trigger and the way it sits in the hand, along with the added benefit of a high capacity magazine and the easily controllable recoil. Plus it is a Wilson, so you have the great customer support and accuracy they are known for.
On the down side, finding high quality leather for them can be tough ...

Enjoy that TRP..............
I shot mine at my usual close quarter combat distances (3-15 yards) She was one fine functioning and very accurate gun in hand.

Congrad's! Nice to hear that Sig maintains quality in this latest mustang like design. I was thinking about picking one up but .380 ammo is a bit pricey. What did this Sig cost if you don't mind me asking?
