FUSON Scout & New Kart...
Published (2009-11-08 15:10:00)
Update: I guess I should have mentioned in my first post that the trigger pull weight on the FUSION is right at 3.5 lbs. I hit the range again today for some more break in time with the new gun. After a bunch of .22 rounds out with the Marvel Unit II conversion on my Caspian frame I went to the FUSION. As well as liking the Winchester 115 gr. FMJ (white box) she apparently loves CCI Blazer Alum 115 gr. FMJ as well. Nice grouping with those...

Stoeger 9MM
Published (2009-10-31 09:03:00)
I bought this Stoeger 9MM new at a local shop awhile back for about $350. The front sight was set pretty far off to the right from center. It shot about 3-5 inches to the left. I had the front sight pressed back over to the left a little bit past center. Here is how it shoots now at 20 yards. What do you think? Leave it or put it back to the right just a little bit? BTW the black dot is a 1 inch dot.

Round #500 Through New Kimber...

Nice shooting! I don't know what the reason behind your shooting is, whether it is for self defense training or just for fun, but the X ring on those sillouette (SP) targets is way too low. You may wish to bring your group up a little.

Colt Defender
Published (2009-11-06 21:27:00)
I took my new Colt Defender .45 ACP to the range again today. Previously, I had only shot it at the 3 yd. range. Today, I put it through its paces at the 7 and 15 yd ranges. Same results each time; all shots in within 5 inch circle or less. Quite a few rounds on top of each other center bulls eye. No misfires, FTF, FTE..... This is one great gun! It shoots like the Colts I am used to including my Gold Cup. I also took my new Bersa UC 9mm and...

Range reality for my daughter

Claire, AzLei, probably more Claire: Did you not see the invisible emoticon at the end of the zombie statement? It was all in jest, seeing as it is the season of ghouls, goblins, witches, and other evil nasty things. I was not disparaging females that carry guns, just trying to offer a reason as to why their first shot often seems to be a dead smack between the eyeballs headshot. It was intended to be humorous, not stereotypical. If you...

Bersa Thunder 9
Published (2009-10-30 11:18:00)
This is just for those who are looking for a medium price 9mm. One of my students brought one to qualify with. He want through about 150 rounds with zero failures. Magazine capacity is 13 plus 1 in the chamber. Barrel length is 3.5..Over all not much bigger than Bersa's 380 series..The hammer drop safety worked well, though for my size hands I had to shift my grip. I have small hands. I shot the piece for a dozen or so rounds. Good white...

Stoeger 9MM
Published (2009-10-31 11:24:00)
Steve, I have a Beretta 8000 (Cougar) and I believe it is the same pistol as the Stoeger? Mine is 9mm also. That's not bad shooting for a 3.6 inch barrel at 20 yards. If you can I'd bring it into about 7 yards and go for one tight hole. No matter where I hit I'd stay right on that black dot and see where I made my single (hopefully ) hole. At that point I'd decide if it needed further adjusting. It's seems to be right...

WOW! Wonderful looking pistol - it is just fantastic looking. Looks like John and Bob's creation is an excellent pistol in the hands of an excellent shooter.
My hats off to you sir - very, very nice pistol you have there!

Unless your are in fear for your life, the N frame is the only way to shoot .357 magnums. I was amazed at how little recoil there is out of my 28 even with Buick killer loads.
Nice group.

Shot 100 rounds of 230 gr fmj through my new Kimber today bringing total round count to 500. Over the past few months I've only had 2 FTFs. One happened under 50 rounds and second under 300 rounds.
Here is one of todays's targets with 60 rounds at 15 yards. I'm pretty happy
You may notice no zombies and no head shots. :P

I didn't get to the range yet, but I did get over to the old railroad cut. I ran a few mag's. of 230 Gr. round nose thru it, & several mag's. of 230 Gr. Hollow Points, with ZERO problems. The targets were 16 Oz. soda bottles @ 10 to 15 yards, & every round found it's target. The empties kick out about 4 Ft. to the right rear. I'm very pleased with it, & will try to bench it when I can....

Good stuff. Thanks for sharing it with us.
Dropped my new ETM mags in the dirt/mud a few times. With the tight fitting followers, my
bets were they wouldn't run. But after a quick wipe on my sweatshirt, to my surprise, they
worked fine.

I talked with Sig yesterday and I may have the bad mag, even though I didn't have much of a problem. They are going to send me a new mag and I ordered two additional mags, which they gave me 20% off retail. I hope the mag I have is actually good, then I will have four.
Out!
