the only plastic part in a Kimber is the MSH. A nicely checkered aluminum S&W MSH from Midway would drop in a Kimber for about 15 bucks shipped. You just can't go wrong with forged frame, slide and barrel in a Kimber.

The first time I tried to join, it said "pending" for several weeks then timed out because the moderator didn't respond. I tried again, and it was approved after about 2 weeks. I guess the moderators don't look at it too much.

I assume that you mean an Armscor, is that correct?? Well to begin with I also own or have owned just about every make of 1911 on the market. I only have a Colt left and 17 Armscor/RIA 1911's left. Why you ask, well for one they are inexpensive, reliable, accurate and a blast to shoot!!! I have not had any problems whatsoever with any of mine!!! They go bang every time that I pull the trigger and...

Novak's would be your best bet, as most (if not all) of the SIG GSR/1911s come with a Novak dovetailed and pinned front sight and a Novak or Champion rear sight, on a Novak slide dovetail.
Alternatively, any good nightsight utilizing a Novak cut will work. Some that come to mind are 10-8, Warren, Heinie...

Are these all made by the same company, Armscor? I have looked at all of these on the net, and from what they look like, they are the same except for the name on the pistol. Anybody out there know the deal with these? If you had to choose, which of these would you buy, or are they close enough that just the cost would determine choice? Thanks!

I have the Firestorm Deluxe model. I Bought it Used in July for $350. the slide to frame fit left alot to be desired. The sights fell off the with the first magazine fired through it. But i liked it. I sent it to a friend who performed a trigger job, tightened the slide to frame fit, removed the firestorm rollmark, and fabricated and hand fit a new trigger. after all that the gun is ...

Looks like it could use some more milling. Like wider scallops behind the trigger guard for starters. And remove that horn on the front of the trigger guard.

saikatana,
I have not heard of any reputatble smith's that won't work on a Norinco. It's a very popular base for a custom. Here is my home smithed Nork: that's 5 shots in 3/4" @ 25 yards from a rest. It's a series 70 copy, and for the most part, a really good copy. People hate to cut on the slide frame with a milling machine because the steel is very hard and dense.

I think Armscor used the Charles Daley mold to make them
Have no idea what happened to your pics. I just copied your link and used the "insert image" to insert it.

Can't you join " Yahoo Groups", and then choose from among all of the available groups? That is, I don't know if you can join the specific group without being a Yahoo Group member. I'm a member, and have been for a long time, so don't really remember how I joined.
