No, the OP is not anti-gun nor is he pro gun control, as stated in this thread previously, "While I'd love for it to become very difficult for the wrong people to get weapons, I recognize that practically it doesn't seem possible for many of the reasons you guys have posted." That means that legislating guns out of the hands of criminals is not possible so we shouldn't do it or try to do it, it won't work....

We're not allowed to "deal" with them on the streets, the courts/prisons won't deal them.... What is there for them to be afraid of?

Which type: S&W (Chain) Why: Thats what I get issued I have several sets of cuffs all of which are chain. I do have one set of hinged...which do seem to further limit the mobility of the detainee/arrestee, especially if you stack their wrists

I used to carry Peerless chain cuffs in a double pouch. After seeing a PCP suspect break the chain (including both wrists) and fight with my partner, I carried one set of Peerless hinged just in case.

Leo Career?

Call a department where you want to work or go to their website to see the qualifications. Your medical discharge might be an issue if the condition continues. Pay and benefits vary by region and department. It is a high stress job with dangers. Marriages tend to suffer because of long hours, shift changes and such. I am not a LEO but know and have known many.

I am about 2.5 hrs south of you. (Victoria) I am sure you know Tacoma PD (Washington) did an extensive study on 1911s. maybe if you contact their rangemaster, they might have that info. my only other suggestion would be FBI firearms in Quantico. they have extensive information and are willing to share that info. I spoke to them a few years back (I cant remember the fella's name-have it ...

I've commented on a few posts about my X300 fitting slightly loose on my TRP Operator. It's really not a huge deal, I'm just being picky I guess. I ended up switching the mount to the locking mount instead of the spring loaded QD mount. That made the light fit nice and tight. Problem solved? Wrong. With the locking mount on the light, it will not longer fit in my duty holster (6280)....

I'd suggest burning through the rest of the ammo loaded in your mags. If they all work-great; reload your mags and chalk it up to a crazy phenom. If they don't, you may have discovered something much deeper.

Depending on the company and how they're running their program at the time (they change often); the discount can either be immediate when you buy or in the form of a mail in rebate or some other bonus. For example a few years ago HK's "discount" was in the form of essentially free night sights and a 3rd magazine. Currently Sig has a 100$ mail-in rebate for active or retired LE and Military. ...

IMO, carrying a pair on the belt is all you need. I've carried a set of Peerless for years. I carry a few extra in the bag. Hiatts for smaller wrists & ankle for those big SOB with thick wrists & tight shoulders. The wt. & space aren't worth the hassle. I don't want my belt cluttered up with pouches. Just my $.02of 18+ working.
