Good, It's a fun game with some real world application, at times. Make sure you make the new shooter briefing, and follow the direction of the RSO. Have fun, shoot straight and be safe.

The most consistant advise I have seen on this subject is to use FMJ/hard ball. Reason is that it may remove any unseen burrs/rough spots prior to trying JHP.

That would be a good place.
Personally, my biggest wants would be competitive prices, good stock of ammo and accessories and friendly, knowledgeable staff. And to me, knowledgeable means knowing when to say "I don't know" just as often as actually knowing the correct answer, instead of making up some BS.

A set of original sandblast walnut grips correct to it are both highly attractive and functional, and would set you back $50 if you shop hard (they are a bit rare and often more). That and the parts you have in hand and then you have an original gun worth $750. Cut it up or paint it with a lesser finish and it will cost you several hundred and it will then drop the value a hundred at least.

Very nice post, Revolverman, I'm glad to hear of your wife's sucess.
My wife and I belong to a private gunclub and shoot together on a regular basis, we try to get to the range once a week.
I have really enjoyed her company.
We got our CCH permits about a year ago and although she shot a bit before then, that really put the hook into her.
My wife grew up with firearms ...

I'd say most standard .38 super loads match the performance of 9mm, but if you reload you can match .357 sig and some loadings will deliver more kinetic energy than most factory-loaded .45 ACP rounds.
1911's in 38 Super is popular in IPSC and USPSA cos when equipped with a compensator it meets the minimum power factor to be considered a "Major" charge, while having more manageable recoil than ...

Can I just reuse the 45 slide and change everything else? {spring,barrel,bushing,magazine ect}
Nope, the breech face is different to hold the very different sized cartridges. Also the ejector cut in the slide is different because of the rim location. A .38 Super/9mm will use the same slide. You change the whole top end as well as the ...

I refuse to use E-Bay or Paypal, I never tried gun pal but I do think gun owners should stick together and avoid anti gun companies.

Gee.. i don't think you can make a bad choice here.. However, if it were me, I would buy the Springfield.. I know the DW is very well made and a very good value... I just cant get over the fact that the company is owned by a foreign business.. CZ is an overseas company taking the profits that DW generates.. Whereas SA is 100 percent American.. Like I say... FOR ME.. I would take the SA...

From everything Iv'e read on this and other gun forums the Colt Defender is your best choice for reliability. Having said that I carry a Kimber Ultra that I trust to go bang but admit I had problems early on.
