Hey 84BravoJ8, I appreciate the pic. Both of the pistols look great, but man, that blued KC looks what I would call "Retro Classy". That is making me lean toward the ivory. I guess wrapping your hand around those grips and squeezing the trigger gives a whole new meaning to the old saying "tickling the ivorys". Pardon that, I just couldn't resist as I used to play music professionally in nightclubs....

Well, I got 2 mags shipped for the cost of buying 1 of them from somewhere else. There are plenty of people that like 47Ds so it's not a problem if they don't work with the new gun. Appreciate the comments guys but if you think I have somehow gotten pulled into buying a particular mag by someone's comment...I suggest you read the thread again. I'm trying what is available and going from there...and doing it at a sensible...

Question to Ed Brown owners
Published (2009-11-26 00:51:00)
I voted KC, because that's the EB I currently own. There is a large store here in H-town at which I was able to handle the EC and the KC, and then the SF, along with a number of Baers, Wilsons and Nighthawks. I chose the KC because I really like the feel of the 'snakeskin'. The idea of it being a fad or cool or going out of style never crossed my mind. I'm not sure where that comes from. It's not that I disliked the...

I voted "Other" only because it seems that you're not 100% sure that you want a commander sized vs full size 1911 and I don't know the primary reason for your purchase.
What will be the role of this pistol? Daily carry, range, home protection, safe queen?
If it's going to be your daily carry then, by all means, you should strongly consider the commander. You could certainly carry a...

It apparently has had the underside of the trigger guard checkered and the front sight is a fiber optic(Dawson?). The sn looks to be in the 2000 range.
Does EB offer the trigger guard checkering and fiber optic front sights as options?

I know they occasionally produce a few 1911 in a caliber other than 45. Beyond that, they are rarer than hen's teeth.
After extensive cajoling and whining on my part, I was told to my face they will not make a 9mm 1911.

I saw some at SHOT last year. I think they look very good. Again, it is almost a sin to cover-up the beautiful metal of a Brown pistol. Any monkey can see a significant difference between a stainless Brown 1911 and production stainless on other makes. But for those who want a Brown, and need a different finish, this is a very nice option.
Thumbs-up to Brown for being a little flexible on ...

Sparks VMII is excellent. I use it, as do many.
People complain about the 4-6 month lead time for Sparks gear, I waited almost two years for a Del Fatti Summer Special IWB. It is a very nice holster, but I have no real use for it as the VMIIs I have are broken in and fit the bill nicely.
I am going to be posting a yard sale thread soon. The Del Fatti will be in the sale. If you ...

1. Ed Brown doesn't come out with a bunch of new models each year.
2. Ed Brown doesn't drop the money on advertising with the gun mags as some of the other manufacturers do.
3. Ed Brown probably doesn't need to drop the ad money (and generate more articles) since he sells all he can build.
