No staggering here. FMJ's for target and plinking and JHP for HD use.

I usually keep a FMJ in the chamber and JHP in the mag. I do this for no other reason then I don't re-chamber rounds. When I clean my pistol I put the chambered rounds in a box marked "chambered" and use it as range ammo. If I don't take my carry pistol to the range I'll still field strip and oil every 2 weeks or so and I don't like wasting the more expensive hollow points by throwing them in a box for...

Think Harley Davidson... That's the deal.. Control/limit/restrict the supply and prices (and demand) increase. Or on a more recent skew, think H1N1 vaccine. It's all big business and politics of course. Think back to 1965/73 and the availability of ammo; we were spraying so much ammo that an entire industry was created using spent brass, yet there was no shortage of ammo at home. Who benefits from restricting ammo sales or even...

Help me understand your statement. If you buy ammo made in the USA....and since Wally World is an American company....how does your money end up in China???? Granted, if you buy Chinese manufactured goods, your money goes to China, but that's hardly a problem unique to Wally World. That happens if you buy a Chinese manufactured toaster from Macy's.

Ohhhhh, I'm sure Hornady would love to hear about this and want all the ammo you have left shipped back and the boxes. Trust me, they will be very interested.

I have a FMJ for my 1st shot, but HP's for the remainder. I do this because If I am ever carjacked, the FMJ will punch the glass much better than HP's. (and if I am not carjacked, I think the one FMJ will do just fine anyway)

I tried the Federal EFMJ, was OK. Not too easy to find in my neck of the woods. I stayed with Gold Dots/Golden Sabers.

Have bought about 10 boxes of federal .40 in the last week at wal-mart here in Iowa. They haven't had much for .45 or .357 though. Also they seem to have 9mm pretty often now.

That steel is coated with a laqure so it does not rust. I have seen guns not do well after shooting a fair amount since the laqure starts to build up.
Now that they have their foot in the door so to say due to low cost.

I don't see anything wrong at all with people hording ammo and reloading supplies. If someone wants to buy something, they're free to buy it. No matter how much it is and how much they already have.
Personally, I don't see the price coming down. As long as people are buying it, the manufacturers can raise they're prices and people will pay.

I am of the opinion that in a SHTF situation slightly used ar's and ammo will be available.
I believe what is meant is stick with what the military uses. 9mm, 5.56x45, 7.62x51. You will have better odds of scrounging these calibers over the more uncommon ones.

I could understand his decision if he'd told you it was more readily available and cost less than 45 auto, but his excuse was creative to say the least!
