I've read in some posts that they use nylon
nuts and bolts and not metal. I would think that this is the safer way to go to avoid shorting anything out. I will shortly be upgrading processors in 2 mini's.
Does anyone know where to get the nylon nuts and bolts?
EDIT
Opps!! Didn't see the above post.

Where are you getting the
eSATA? The G4 minis are PATA for both the HD and the optical.
How much disk space do you need?

You most definitely will not be able to swap out the
PowerPC processor for the Intel one..the architectures entirely different, so if an Intel-based mini is required, you'd have purchase that..

I noticed an immediate difference.
I don't thing you can go wrong with Hitachi, and that looks like a pretty good price.

First you need to format you new HD.
The easiest thing would have been to install the new HD
in an external enclosure.
Attach it to the mini.
Launch "Disc Utility" located in your Utilities Folder.
Select your new HD in the left column.
Click the 'Erase" button (Tab?)
Choose for "Volume Format", "Mac OS X Extended (journaled)
Name your HD "Macintosh HD" or whatever you ...
