well no it wouldn't be, if we have 2 BMW factory cars, and 2 Corvette factory cars, against 2 private Ferrari cars, and 2 private Porsche cars, it wouldn't be much racing, now would it.....

If I recall correctly, I believe the FIA said they actually had a large number of entries already several months ago, so I'm assuming some teams will actually not make the cut.

It was expected Greg Loles would continue on, after the split. (Per Murphy the Bear months ago) I haven't seen anything official on the Farnbacher Loles split/fold, perhaps if someone has, or has inside info they can comment.

Wow, lots of interesting things in BMWs announcement.
The Super GT - DTM thing backs up the latest story from Autosport, very interesting.
Interesting bits:
Dirk Werner is now BMW factory driver, kind of surprising considering he spent most of his endurance career driving Porsches.
For the Nürburgring 24hr race, Dirk Adorf and Uwe Alzen will join the Schnitzer squad, I´m very ...

wait this has been mentioned in the touring car section. We thought it was going to Thailand to the SuperGT Series there. But my first guess was correct. So this will be replacing all the MRS's that are still in the series correct?

Lets hope that Henri Pescarolo has something to do with this . After all that man has done for motorsport , it would be a huge shame to see him sidelined .
I think Pug know just how experianced he is too.

Murphy's twitter tells me broadcast TV (presumably ABC, NBC etc.) is out next year. ALMS finally got fed up of being featured with the worst coverage in the sport's history. I hope to see one prototype class regardless of Audi and Acura's plans. Run with an equivalency formula much like they had "2006-2008". Atherton said there will be no identifiable GT1 grid, does that mean GT1 cars are welcome...

It is up to the series to market the racing as "green". But in my mind racing should naturally lead the "green racing" initiative because that is what the market desires from auto manufacturers. Sports car racing is where the appropriate technologies are developed, perfected and made practical, thus sports car racing should lead the trend.

I think it is too early to say, but fun to speculate nonetheless.
Aren't they mostly focused on WTCC (other than the former F1 program)? With ALMS GT2 playing second fiddle?
And I thought that Sauber bought out the team, so does that mean that the "F1 resources" (aside from Theissen) will remain in F1 with Sauber and thus not be available for a switch to a new BMW LMP car design/program? ...

It'd be nice if they would get a program together for 2011, now that the rules are more clear. They have been "considering" a program for a while now.
