Hi Andy Your car looks superb in its DJR colours. On the autosport thread I started the owner of the original DJR car that came over for the TT has left a note to say its currently being restored and he would love to bring it over again once its finished. It would be superb to see yours and the others battling it out again. Its one of the original ex racers thats looking into getting them together again, not sure though how advanced the plans...

I was well into Anglias in the late 70's and early 80's - wish I had kept just one of these! The yellow/green car was the ex Rupert Long spaceframe BDA which is now red/white and recently resurfaced. The black/gold car was the ex John Macdonald Anglia BRM, the white/green car was a genuine Broadspeed version and I'm sure most people recognise the Roger Williamson / Gerry Taylor Swish car which from memory ended its days as an...

The UK engine builder (still in business) Judd were one of the suppliers of the F3 VW engine at the time. The successful VW was a single cam Golf based unit though a twin cam 16v unit was also tried, the extra high up weight did not help and with a 24mm air restrictor giving a 6000rpm limit effectively and a 13:1 compression ratio seemed to suit the simpler engine better.
The Toyota 8v twincam ...

Hi there,
Sorry to be late to the party ... but are you talking about 'our' Yimkin?
My father owned and hill climbed one during the 70's ( Castle Howard etc.) and sold it on before regret shortly settled in.
I have got a great photo and will dig it out over Chritsmas ... and would be great to pass on an 'up to date' record to pop!
Best wishes,
Alastair Cox

Ginger Marshal's Reliant Kitten with it's Imp/Mini hybrid power plant and later in the 90's Simon Knighton's Lancia Stratos with the bike engine .
Both in my view fantasticly engineered 1 litre cars.

Yep, now i'm really worried!
My other thought based on reading your link is that the original Grp A
rally cars might well have been the old Grp 1 racers uprated?!
How are we going to get a definite line, assuming anyone is permitted to
come forward and give us clues.
For all we know there may have been a TWR policy to keep certain info
behind closed doors?
Can we get Ken Clarke or another ...

I don't think the Merfield/Sanger V8 Cortina had much to do with Mustangs - for example the V8 was actually a Coventry Climax...
...how do I know this? Having bought a book on Coventry Climax engines recently where there's a photo of a V8 in a Cortina my Dad phoned up his old mate Terry Sanger to see if it was Terry's old car - and it was....

This is repeated on my long running Lola T492 thread here, but I hope this thread will catch some 'extra' attention.
I am trying to find who sold a Lola T492 Sports 2000 race car in about 1987/88 to Harry Humberstone or his son Alan.
The car was used to provide a clean tub to re-build the Humberstone's Karmann Ghia Super Saloon that originally sat on Tony Dickinson's Lola, T 490 HU 6...

I'm pretty sure Gerry Marshall was the latest to race a Vauxhall in Danish Special Saloon - that was back in 1977! Around the same time sales of Vauxhall ended leaving Opel as the sole GM-Europe brand so not a lot of interest in Vauxhalls in Denmark.

If you contact Reg James, chairman of the Classic F3 club he will probably be able to help you as I know a Safir won the championship a number of years ago and he would know which car it was. You can contact Reg through the club website which is ClassicF3.co.uk.

Hi Camaroz,
The spaceframe 320 built by Gardner I think ended up in Hong Kong but is now in NZ being restored I think.
Regarding the other 2 cars that were in Australia they were not ex McLaren but came from Jim Busby in the US. One car returned to California years ago as you say & is now being restored. The other car I brought to England about 8 years ago & is now being restored in ...
