Interesting comments on the 1400GTR.
Heat is a problem and is not hidden by anybody. In fact the 2010 model comments about the improved heat dispersing.

I fitted the Stain tune exhaust to my 1400 and a PC3 at the same time I fitted the air cleaner and removed the flies.
Worth the money as it dropped about 6kgs, gained low down, throttle response, gained a few hp and best of all made the bike
stand and deliver a note worthy of
a 1400.

I've just spent some time working on my original seat and can't believe the difference.
I replaced the original seat with the Gel seat but had to use an
air hawk because the Gel seat was so hard.
The original seat was too high so I went in from underneath and removed a heap of foam from the bottom, this had a twofold effect,

Never had a cracked rim Tim but a reasonable
woof in the rim from the last dirt trip I had on the outfit was a large rut in the road so knew when that happened
Tyre still didn't leak though. Sorry to hear that its cracked does it leak?
